Take Time to Save

I keep talking about taking the time to plan ahead. We live in a time when everything is nearly instant, however rarely is instant free. We can grab fast food, but it's more expensive than taking the time to cook and eat at home. We can buy ready-made products and party packages and a whole variety of other pieces and parts of our lives that we "just don't have time for." Do we really not have time? If we are saving time buying things, that just means we're now required to spend more time earning the money we need to buy the stuff. If we stop and take the time to plan how we're spending our money, making our own meals, shopping smarter, creating hand made gifts or whatever else we are capable of, our money can go further.
Many of the things we do to save time also seem to take quality time away from our families, the ones we are trying to save time to spend more time with. Here's food for thought...
If we are always on the go from one place to another, stopping only to order a burger we eat in the car while shuttling one kid one place and another somewhere else... when are we making time sit and spend time enjoying each other? Simple things like having a sit down meal at the kitchen table together can make a big difference in our wallets and our relationships.
I'm going to try to work harder make time to save some money and spend time with my family, will you join me?
